The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage

Chapter 2234

As an archaeologist, Sylvie could tell right away that the vase beside Frank's feet was a genuine artifact.

"Really? That's an artifact?"

Alda was not that interested in antiques and certainly found it a lot less interesting, with its dull luster and rustlike texture. It showed age but really fell short in preservation.

"You don't get it, huh? Artifacts never make a good first impression, but you'll eventually understand the endless charm it has in store."

Sylvie laughed, knowing that she could not explain what made that artifact incredible, and gave up on explaining. "Everyone has their own preferences, so it's understandable."

"You like it?" Frank asked just then. "You can have it."

"Really?!"

"Of course. This company is mine anyway—what's a vase in that respect?"

Sylvie was at once surprised and delighted by his generosity, and she could barely stop herself from smiling. "Perfect. The museum has never had an ancient vase this big-I'll send it to them."

Alda was confused. "What? Why? A museum won't be missing an artifact or two."

"You wouldn't get it, but this vase is so well preserved that one might even qualify it as a national treasure. These vases are exceedingly rare, making it all the more precious."

Alda could barely understand half of what Sylvie said and turned toward Frank instead of continuing the subject. "I heard from Sally that everyone in this building would do your bidding. Is that true?"

Sylvie's eyes lit up. "Now that's a headline! The always quiet and mild Ms. Ingram saying something like this... It's rarer than this vase!"

Alda pouted. "People change, and it was just a joke in the first place. Don't get all uppity."

Sylvie smiled but stopped teasing her just then as she studied the vase, which was her priority.

At the same time, Alda walked up to Frank's side and smiled. "May I put that theory to test?"

"Just don't go too far," Frank said, though he was just as surprised as Sylvie how Alda felt like a completely different person just then. He was actually eager to see what she would do.

And having Frank's permission, Alda smiled like a child and happily ran out of the office.

Turning to Sylvie, Frank asked, "By the way, has anything else caught your eye? I have a hunch that everything here has been preserved for generations, and it'd be better to send them to a museum instead of letting them rot here. Everyone would get to enjoy the history that way."

Sylvie shook her head despite his generosity. "No, it's fine-this vase alone is huge. I'd even feel guilty if I had to take more."

Frank smiled in wry amusement. "It's not for you, it's for the museum, though I must ask that everything be preserved well and suffer no damage or loss!"

Seeing that Frank was so enthusiastic, Sylvie nodded in acceptance. "Don't worry it's not going to happen. I promise on my virtue."

Frank waved her off. "Your virtue ain't worth shit."

Sylvie remained calm as she could see that Frank was joking, and she even flashed a sly smile. "So, getting full of yourself after it's been a while since showed you a thing or two, huh?" noveldrama

Frank watched as she licked her lips dangerously and quickly threw his hands up. "Not here. Sally might have installed cameras, so we've gotta watch out."

Sylvie kept teasing him. "That's alright. Let her admire my splendor and understand that she isn't the only special woman in this world. I won't lose out now!"

Frank sighed, exasperated but unable to do anything with Sylvie.

He would not have said yes if he had known-and the problems had already come!
