Unforgettable love

Chapter 45

Chapter 45:.

From start to finish, Matthew didn’t frown at all and placed his injured hand behind him. His expression was cool, but he didn’t look as calm as he appeared.

He stared at Beulah, who was insulting him, and his mouth tightened into a thin line as he gave off a colder aura. “Why are you still standing there?”

The security guards immediately reprimanded Beulah and dragged her out.

Like a madwoman, she acted hysterically and bit the guard.

“Matthew, you have sexually harassed my daughter and you haven’t even bothered to take responsibility. You will die in horrible agony! You think you can do whatever you want just because you are rich? You think you can get away with anything because you have money? Are we to be bullied by you just because we have no money and no authority?” screamed Beulah at the top of her voice. Her mind still seemed to be very clear and every sentence she said was meant for others to think she was being bullied by Matthew.

She was the victim here.

Everyone who heard her realized there was something fishy going on.

Matthew was bullying her daughter?

It was such shocking news.

Not only the company employees, but also the guards who arrested Beulah wanted to know more about it.

Beulah wasn’t afraid to embarrass herself. She sat on the floor and cried aloud, “I had such a hard life. I only had one daughter and you raped her. There is no room for me to reason. Does the law still exist today? Why do the poor have to be intimidated?”

People began to gather at the door and all eyes turned to Matthew.

Matthew felt offended. Dolores turned and saw the blue veins standing out on his side profile. She knew he was very angry.

She was glad he hated Beulah, but it wasn’t the right time now because the crowd was still watching.

This man of great prestige was the target of a rumor. People would definitely start gossiping about him.

“She’s a crazy woman. Hurry up and get her out of here. Can’t you see she’s stirring up trouble here?” said Dolores coolly.

“The one who’s crazy is you!” Dolores’ words seemed to have provoked Beulah. While the guards were not paying attention, she lunged at her with hatred, “I’ll kill you!”.

Dolores was so frightened that she backed up a few steps and heard a voice shouting, “You seek to be killed!”.

Beulah was kicked out once again. This time, it was more embarrassing than a moment ago. She was pushed to the ground and fell backwards.

Matthew glared at the security guards who couldn’t catch her, “What were you guys doing, are you waiting to get fired?”.

The guards broke out in a cold sweat. Beulah had a chance to hurt people because they were too incautious with the situation now. This time, they didn’t dare to neglect this matter again, or they might lose their jobs for real.

“Send her to the police station and report an attempted murder.” Matthew was really upset. He made no concessions for Beulah. The guilt of an attempted assault was totally different from that of an attempted murder.

The guards caught Beulah, dragged her to the car and sent her to the police station.

Beulah kept cursing as she was completely locked in the car.

“It’s over now.”

Matthew said in a cold tone and the crowd slowly dispersed. The man who spoke to Dolores earlier addressed her quietly, “I didn’t expect you to be so brave as to dare stand in front of Mr. Nelson.”

“If you become acquainted with Lord Nelson, he will surely consider you in the future. After all, you risked your life to block the knife for him.” The man said with a hint of envy.

Dolores didn’t know what he was referring to until now.

Did he think she put herself in front of Matthew on purpose?

Only she knew better.

She looked at Matthew’s injured hand, wondering how bad his injury was.

She never thought he would pick up the knife with his bare hand.

How painful that must be!

“What’s your name?” the man suddenly asked.

Dolores’ mind was not on the man’s words, and she casually answered, “Dolores Flores.”

“Are you free tonight? Let’s go eat together; I’ll wait for you after work.”

Huh?

Dolores turned around and looked at the man. Was he trying to ask her out?

He had to be kidding. They had only met for the first time.

Dolores was confused.noveldrama

“I…”

“You, come in with me!” Matthew had a stern expression. Was she trying to seduce another man in front of him?

Did she know what embarrassment was?

Dolores quickly followed him.

The man behind her didn’t give up and said, “Miss Flores, I’ll wait for you in front of the company after work today and we’ll have dinner together.” Matthew stopped his pace and looked at Dolores again.

She was about to answer the man when she saw Matthew looking at her with angry eyes. His face was as if he was saying he would strangle her alive if she agreed to have dinner with this man.

Dolores was pleased and asked him timidly, “Are you mad?”. He said nothing but stared at her.

He looked at her thoughtfully.

Dolores swallowed saliva and turned to look at the man, “I’m sorry, I already have an appointment.”

When he turned his head again, Matthew’s mood brightened as he was satisfied with Dolores’ response.

He thought for a moment and said, “Is your hand okay, do you want to go to the hospital?”.

Dolores thought it must hurt a lot to hold a knife with a bare hand.

Matthew didn’t answer her. He entered the elevator and Dolores followed him.

She took the initiative to press the floor button and stood at the side of the elevator, looking at her own reflection through the metal surface. He stared blankly for a while and said, “When Miss White gets to work, ask her to bandage your wound.”

Whatever the reason, he had hurt himself because of her. Therefore, she had to be sympathetic to him.

Matthew looked at her from the wall, since he could not perceive her emotions, and said calmly, “He went on a business trip to Country A.”

Dolores immediately raised her head and looked at him. Had he not attended last night’s dinner with her?

Why so suddenly?

Matthew fixed her gaze and said, “It’s a work arrangement.” He didn’t tell her that he had sent Helen away on purpose.

He wasn’t a fool. His uncontrolled feelings for Dolores, could they be because he actually liked her a little?

He had never loved anyone, so he didn’t understand his feelings. In short, Dolores was really attractive to him.

“I see.”

After responding to her words, he spoke no more.

Ding! The elevator arrived at their desired floor and the door slowly opened.

Matthew stepped out of the elevator and Dolores followed him. She looked at his blood soaked hand. There was so much blood that she couldn’t see the wound clearly.

Matthew was about to enter his office when Dolores quickened her steps and called out to him, “Should I…bandage your wound first?”

Matthew said nothing, but stood in the doorway of his office like a statue.

Dolores seemed to understand his body language; she hurried to open his office door. She thought of the medical supplies in the pantry cabinet for emergencies and said, “I’ll go get the first aid kit.”

Matthew turned around and looked at his back hurrying out the door. The corners of his lips turned up in a soft smile.

Dolores returned with a first aid kit. Matthew sat on the couch and his injured hand was on his knee. The blood on the hand had clotted. He walked over to him with the first aid kit, placed it on the small table and opened it. He found the disinfectant and gauze. He looked down and said, “Medical supplies here are limited. If it’s serious, you have to go to the hospital.”

He had braced himself as he spoke. His attention was on the wound on her hand and he thought of nothing else. He grabbed her hand and clearly saw the wound in the palm.

The knife was cutting the palm. If she had not pressed on the wound with her fist, she would have lost even more blood.

Dolores’ hand trembled slightly and she murmured, “This may hurt a little, so be patient.”

She took the alcohol-soaked cotton swab and cleaned the wound on her hand. Although she hadn’t done it before, she didn’t panic. She was very calm as she handled the wound carefully.

Matthew looked up and watched the woman in front of him. She looked at his wound. Her eyelashes were long and curly, framing them in such a way that they could be considered mesmerizing.

Ouch!

“Did I hurt you?” Dolores raised her head and met his eyes.

The distance between them was so close that they could feel each other’s breathing. Matthew’s breathing was a little heavy. His breath blew occasionally over the hair on her collarbone.

“Ease the pain for me.”
