Unforgettable love

Chapter 59

Chapter 59:.

Although the divorce certificate was not enforced, but six years had passed. A normal marriage could automatically break up their marriage if they lived apart for six years, right?

Dolores pretended to be calm: “A married couple who lived apart for two years can voluntarily break up their marriage…”

“What professor taught you law?” scoffed Matthew.

Six years ago, this woman disappeared without a trace.

In life, he had become accustomed to her existence at home. But since she left, his villa became very quiet. The village lacked human warmth and no longer felt like home. Her heart, too, was empty.

Dolores thought it was ridiculous.

“You’re getting engaged soon, and we still have marital relations? What’s in it for you? Don’t you know bigamy is a great crime?” Matthew wasn’t angry at all as he looked at her silently.

He was as sharp as ever.

Dolores felt nervous as he continued to stare at her. She trembled anxiously, “I still have work to do.”

She wanted to run away after she said that.

Matthew grabbed her arm and pulled her hard, making her fall backwards. He wrapped his arms around her waist and hugged her tightly. They were so close together that she could feel his warmth and his heartbeat.

Dolores stared up at him. She stiffened her body as she dared not move and said, “Let me go, or else I’ll sue you!”

Matthew rubbed her wrist with the pulp of his finger, and drew her hand toward his shirt. His eyes were haunting as he said in a husky voice, “Sue me for what?”

Without waiting for Dolores’ response, he continued, “Sue me for sexually harassing you?”

“…”

Before Dolores could react, he leaned in while holding the back of her neck and kissed her.

It was a familiar breath, as always.

A breath that fascinated her.

Dolores took a breath and instantly blushed all over. She felt her heart pounding like a storm in her chest. She forced herself to calm down. Desperately, she opened her mouth and bit his lips.

Matthew ached and loosened his lips slightly. With that, Dolores quickly pushed him away.

Then, she turned and ran away.

Matthew watched Dolores’ back, which fled in a hurry. He reached up to rub the corner of his mouth and there was blood on the back of his hand.

This woman had bitten him. She wasn’t like that before.

He swallowed the blood from the corner of his lips where Dolores bit him.

“Matthew.” Mary stood in the doorway of the stairwell, trembling with anger.

Judging by the look on her face, she should have seen what had just happened.

Matthew looked up. He didn’t care at all about her feelings and said,

“Our engagement is off, I will not marry you.”

Mary panicked. She rushed over to Matthew and grabbed his arm, “Matthew, our families have already agreed. Besides, this is what your father wanted…”

Matthew aggressively pushed her away. Perhaps he used too much force to make Mary take several steps back. If there wasn’t a wall behind her, she surely would have fallen to the ground.

“As for my father, I’ll explain.” Matthew didn’t think to hold her. He took a step and walked away.

Mary quickly hugged his leg and cried, “Matthew, it’s been so many years.

Why can’t you forgive me?”

Matthew’s eyes were fierce and steady, “You should have thought about the circumstances when you lied to me.”

Six years ago, she told Matthew she’d had a miscarriage and he thought it was true. He wanted to take responsibility even though he didn’t love her.

But she lied to him.

She wasn’t pregnant at all.noveldrama

That’s why he didn’t marry her six years ago.

This time, it was just a marriage to make connections between two families.

It was an order from his father.

He was willing to accept this order without Dolores, but now he couldn’t!

“I was wrong, Matthew. Could you forgive me this time?” Mary didn’t care about her image and her dignity. She just wanted this man she loved so much to come back to her.

“I can give you anything you want, except marriage.” She turned and pushed his hands away. “You are the young lady of the Herbert Family. There are so many men in this world, why do you have to be ashamed?”

“Matthew…please…”

No matter how much Mary begged, Matthew didn’t care and immediately walked away.

He walked out of LEO Corporation and immediately called Abbott as he opened his car door. Matthew asked him to find out where Dolores was staying.

Abbott couldn’t react for a moment. Why was this name appearing again after disappearing for so long?

“Mr. Nelson, aren’t you going to get engaged soon? Why did you think to investigate her place of residence now? She had been missing for so long. There was no news of her, where am I supposed to find her place of residence?”

“Abbott.” Matthew’s voice was calm, but Abbott knew something wasn’t right here.

“The capital of Country A.” He hung up the call after saying that. He had thought earlier that Dolores would be in Country A. He checked in particular where she used to live, but there was no trace of her.

Even the traces of her leaving the country had been deliberately erased by someone.

He said she hadn’t gone into hiding?

So who would have done that, why did they do that?

His mind was totally occupied with Dolores that he didn’t realize there was someone in the car with him.

Samuel saw Dolores being bullied by this man and felt extremely angry. However, he knew he could not beat him because this man was obviously too strong for him.

He was not strong, but he was smart.

So, he took the opportunity to get into the car when Matthew was making a phone call.

He rolled down the window and shouted, “Help! Save me! I’ve been kidnapped.”

Matthew’s car was driving through the center of town. Samuel’s screams attracted the attention of passersby who were looking at his car.

Samuel’s eyes were red-rimmed: “This bad man is a human trafficker, he’s trying to sell me. Everybody save me, please. Call the police for me.”

Matthew’s face turned grim in an instant. How long had this guy been in his car?

And who said he was a human trafficker?

Who was going to sell him?

“How could anyone have the heart to sell such a beautiful child?”

Tears welled up in Samuel’s eyes. His complaint and fearful face attracted everyone’s attention. Some of them bravely stepped in front and blocked his car, preventing Matthew from passing.

He had no choice but to stop his car.

Samuel was rescued. He cried and said, “Thank you for saving me, otherwise they would sell me. They might even trade my organs.”

The more Samuel said, the more scared and sad he became.

“Only the lowest of the low would do this to a child!” Human traffickers, no matter what country they were in, would undoubtedly be the target of criticism.

“He looks decent, but he’s actually a human trafficker.”

“What a waste of his lovely face!”

Matthew was heavily criticized and no one listened to his defense.

Everyone was sure he was the bad guy.

After all, it was a lovely child who was accusing him.

No one would doubt the words of a child.

The police took Matthew away. Samuel was also taken to the police station to assist in the investigation.

Dolores locked herself in her office. Matthew’s sudden appearance made her calm heart flutter again.

She put her hand under her chin, wondering if she should find a new place to stay.

She didn’t want to be disturbed.

Buzz…

The phone on her desk suddenly vibrated.

She stared at the phone for two seconds. The call didn’t stop, so she reached out to answer it.

“Are you Miss Dolores Flores?”

“Yes, it’s me.”

“Your son was kidnapped by a human trafficker and a kind man rescued him. He is now at the police station, please come and pick him up.”
